Battlefield 1 vs Call of Duty Infinite Warfare

I’ve been playing video games since I was a wee tot.  It was about 7 years ago or so that I decided to try my first shooter, Call of Duty.  I’ve been a loyal  player for years with the occasional dabbling in Battlefield.  I did enjoy Battlefield Hardline, story mode, but a glitch with it on my PS4 put that at an abrupt halt.

The excitement for Call of Duty Infinite Warfare was very present at E3.  IT was hyped up and looked promising.  As always I went to the midnight release and picked up my copy.  It was soon after that I realized that fighting in space wasn’t exactly the makings of good game play.  Running on walls, the cheating, the same old simple maps, were just not impressing me.

I decided that maybe the single player game would be full filling.  Again I was wrong.  There was nothing new here except location.  The “rigs” we got to wear but nothing gripping.

Now I was absolutely adamant about not playing Battlefield 1.  Even though I was very impressed at E3, I always considered myself a COD person, ya know?

I was wrong.

Battlefield 1 has a beautifully written storyline, an engulfing world which takes you back.  The guns are not these high tech blasters, they are the older, real used guns you saw back in the war.  The real war, not the one we are fighting in space.

I think COD needs to get back to basics.  Back to what made them what they are today.  I defiantly think that all the cheating, and if you don’t think there is any going on your severely mistaken, has to be regulated.  Really, put people in rooms based on how they play, how they rank.  Similar styles.  I always get put in with clans who talk to each other, run on walls, have altered guns, and really it just makes the experience, well, not fun.

I still think there is hope for COD.  I know there will be another installment.  Let them follow Battlefield 1 and give us an engrossing storyline.  WIth epic gameplay.
