I’ve had a few weeks now to think about the Infinity Wars film. There was so much to take in, and so much to ponder. Am I any closer to knowing what will happen next. I won’t know until the next one comes out.
I thought the film did a great job of cumulating all the previous films and characters together. There were times I did go back and re-watch a few movies before I went and saw Infinity Wars, which really helped a lot.
I found that the movie flowed well. Bringing them all together and knowing their backstories and what they had been through, really made it feel very comfortable to watch.
Josh Brolin was great at playing Thanos, and his relationship with Gamora seemed to be his weakness. To me, all villains have a weak spot. I wish he didn’t have to do what he did, but we had two storylines going on. One of Thanos trying to get the stones, and the other tryings to stop it.
I dont think the ones that were “dusted” at the snap of his finger are actually gone. I’m not quite sure what Doctor Strange saw in his visions, but I do believe he saw that in order to win this “war”, Tony had to be alive, and perhaps Doctor Strange wasn’t even part of it. We all know the the time stone can reverse time and if someone, whom I think is Nebula or Cap can get close enough to the Gautlet, give it to Thor who does indeed know how to get to where the mold for the Gauntlet is, we just might be able to recreate a new Gauntlet. What would a second snap do? Would they turn back time?
I’ll leave you with this, I though it was way out of character for Tony Stark to have a flip phone. for Doctor Strange to hand over the time stone, and Tony’s vision of having a child, as if it was real, had already happened. Could that have happened and he actually remembered it, even though Pepper had said no, no child. I do not believe that he meant Spiderman.
Lastly I think we’ll see some heroes come back. Some we won’t. But overall Marvel did a great job with this film. It gets you to think. There is so much more I have to say about the film but I’ll keep it short.
It’s almost that time of year again. That’s right, Comic Con is just around the corner. San Diego has been host to the pop culture convention for years, and now it’s become a mecca not only for comics, but for toys.
Hasbro has unveiled it’s Legendary Daredevil, which will be $59.99 available at their booth. If there are any left over I would imagine they would be available on Hasbro’s website. This is not the Daredevil that is currently played by Charlie Cox on Netflix. It does include some pretty awesome artwork from Joe Quesada.
Daredevil will be part of the Defenders on the Netflix show. If you’re a Daredevil fan, check this out. I think it looks amazing.
Wondercon 2017 begins tomorrow, Friday March 31 and continues to Sunday April 2nd. This is a historic Wondercon for some due to the fact that it does not fall on Easter weekend. It is being held at the Anaheim Convention center, which is directly across from Disneyland.
Wondercon is affiliated with the San Diego Comic Con. Yes, it’s the same folks the put that wonderful show on that also put this show on, its just a smaller, but just as good. Wondercon is host to nearly 59,000 people.
A bit of history about Wondercon. The convention hasn’t always been in Anaheim. Until 2012 it was in San Francisco, having Originated in Oakland CA. A fun fact that I didn’t know until I read the information handed out today when I picked up my badge.
Wondercon has something for everyone. There are are a multitude of vendors, nearly 1,000. Comics from DC, Marvel, Image, Boom. They have new and used comics and I usually find some stellar deals at some of the booths.
There is a lot of programming some of which includes Warner Bros, BBC, NBC and 20th Century Fox. Just to name a few. There is hundreds of hours of panels over the course of the 3 days. It’s rather quite amazing how they put this show together so quickly. I was there today, and honestly there really wasn’t much put together yet. I’m sure the vendors are working late into the night to get ready for everyone tomorrow.
I will be updating through out the day, and in the evening after the day has come to a close. Check my Facebook and Twitter for updates.
Iron Fist is a marvel character that I knew nothing about until I started watching the Netflix original series this week. After binge watching the show, which I highly recommend checking out, I did decide check out some of the comics.
Iron Fist is not a new character, however there is a new Iron Fist #1 that was just released. I read through it quickly and I really liked it. In the comic, he’s seems to be losing his Iron Fist powers which he draws from the chi force of K’un-Lun, which was destroyed. Needless to say, Iron Fist is having an identity problem, since when he’s not Iron Fist, he’s Danny Rand.
Danny Ran is having a rough time finding himself, and begins frequenting a bar where whisky is his friend. Until opportunity arises and Danny just may have a chance to find answers, and maybe even restore his power.
This was just the first issue of the comic, so this is where is 2017 storyline will begin. Danny is a master of Kung Fu and even though his Iron Fist power is fading, he can still hold his own.
I am looking forward to the series. He is an interesting character who doesn’t just fight but also has a very real human emotion side to him. Making him easy to relate to on a few levels.
They leave us with Danny sailing off to find answers. I can’t wait to take the journey with him.
