LA Comic Con 2019 Is Upon Us

This weekend, October 11-13 2019, at the Los Angeles convention center, we have a spectacular comic convention in full swing. I’ve gone to every LA Comic Con through the years, and this year, there is a clear difference in the feel of it.

The convention in general seems much more organized, it was easy to get in, and not too crowded to walk around. The vendors are more diverse and offer some really great items. There is really something for everyone.

As I walked the floor today I saw some amazing cosplays. Its refreshing to see what people can come up with when they decide who they want to depict in their cosplay. Its even more amazing to know that they have made the costume themselves. Some are even functional. Its a photographers heaven.

One of my favorite things to do is to go to Wild Bills. It’s where you buy a cup, usually a cup that is reflective of the venue, and then there is the awesome variety of soda that is available. Personally, I am always getting Sasparilla. In fact, I’ve never tried any of their other flavors. I love the fact that once you buy the cup you get free refills all day. Its a great idea with a solid product.

LA Comic Con is a convention that is for everyone. From young to old, there is something that is appealing. The cost per day isn’t going to break your bank, and you will be able to buy the cool things that catch your eye.

This was the first day, and this is just a quick recap, very quick of my first impression of the day. I will be in attendance tomorrow, which will allow me to write more in depth. I did pick up some comics I will be reviewing and I also have 3 Hot Toys I would love to show you.

If you are going, or even if you can’t, let us know on our facebook, or twitter what you’d like see. Again, I highly recommend this convention, it has a good vibe to it.

A Twist of Events in The Flash Trailers.

The Flash played by Grant Gustin

For those Flash fans out there, Tuesday is the day. The trailers that have been leading up to this weeks episode have been really intriguing. Especially the one that dropped at San Diego Comic Con 2018. For those paying attention, a twist. I found myself watching this over and over until it finally came out.

The Flash Comic Con 2018 Trailer

The Flash is a TV series on the CW, starring Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash. The series began in 2014 and it’s totally has us captivated. Let us know what you thought of tonights episode.

Suide Squad Birds of Prey Teaser

Margot Robbie reprises her role as Harley Quinn.

What did you think of the quick teaser of Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of one Harley Quinn)? The Birds of Prey consist of Black Canary played by June Smollett-Bell , Huntress as plated by Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Renee Montoya portrayed by Rosie Perez.

There isn’t much known about the film as of yet, though we can assume it is set in Gotham City. The Birds of Prey connects Harley with a bunch of other female characters known to the DC Universe.

We also saw a sneak, quick peek of Ewan McGregor, as Black Mask, though he is seen here without a mask. The Birds of Prey is an interesting comic read. Birds of Prey will be in theaters February 7, 2020.

Captain Marvel: Is Goose a Flerken?

Could Captain Marvels cat, Goose be a Flerken? Don’t know what a Flerken is exactly, let me give you a quick run down. Flerken look like cats that inhabit earth. Seem normal right? Well the thing about Flerken’s are they also have the ability to lay 117 eggs and have an amazing amount of tentacles that can reach out of their mouths. It is also said that their bodies hold pocket realities, bubbles of space and time that could extend to other worlds. Together with Captain Marvel, this could be a good recipe for success.

I know, I know, it’s a long shot, but it is a shot. If you don’t know what

I’ll touch a bit more about Flerken since if Goose the cat is one, it could hold the key to this whole Infinity War dibacle. Here’s a few things that are pretty cool about them. They may have the ability to hold entire universes in their mouths, and they can enter and access them whenever they want or need to access them.

They also have tentacles, I know, sounds crazy. A cat with tentacles in their mouth? Well, Flerken do, and I’m not saying that Goose is a Flerken, but he could be and that is all that matters. Flerken primarily use these tentacles for support postures or offensive attacks. Seems pretty low key? They have nestled mouths which can indeed spew out maws which is where we see their fury. They have no mercy when biting down and gobbling up just about anything.

Flerken do have dimensional travel which can make quite the mess. It is useful though however for instantaneous travel. In this universe we could use that, and right about now would be perfect in my opinion.

Now Flerken do have the ability to understand humans. They can understand conversations between them.

Carol Danvers Cat, Chewie

The only thing that can hold a Flerken back is a muzzle. If their olfactory space is inaccessible, they are rendered useless. We wouldn’t want that now, would we? Rocket Raccoon once tried to defeat “Chewie”, Goose and the kittens. Obviously that didn’t go quite well. Then again not much does go well for Good Ol’Rocket.

Whether or not Goose, who yes is named after the Top Gun Goose, is or isn’t a Flerken, they did take the time to make a poster of his own for the stand alone Captain Marvel movie.

Captain Marvel hits theaters March 7, 2019.
